Digipak Cover Research - Will Collier

This is a Bloc Party digipak from the album Silent Alarm. It is appropiate to the genre of bloc party because bloc party are indie/rock/pop. The image is of a very still quite place. The name of the album is a juxtaposition. Silent is not normally a word you would assosiate with alarm. The Font that the band have used is big and bold this makes it stand out over the picture so when the audience sees it on a shelf they instantly know who the album is by.

This is Pendulums Digipak for the album In Silico. This seems to fit  the genre of rock/pop better than bloc party's digipak. The bright colours, lots of things happening. The main image is a circular maze with a 'human' in the middle. This would immediatly stand out because of the bright colours and the original image. However the text is quite small at the top of the cd cover so this might be harder for a buyer to read.

This is Passion Pit's digipak from the album smile upon me. This is differnet from most of the other albums from this genre. The indie side of the rock/pop/indie side has been used here. The image is original and unlike anything been seen on a cd cover before.

Our idea for the Digipak is to keep it simple. Maybe one image that represents the song/band in one way, and big text telling the audience/buyer what they need to know. e.g name song etc. It will be appropiate to the genre because it will be like bloc party album cover very minimal but still attract the buyer.
